Choosing An Acoustic Remedy Humidor

Determining which Acoustic Remedy humidor is correct for your situation is critical to fit, form, and function for years of enjoyment.

We group the humidors into two groups - single instrument humidors and multi-instrument humidors. Within single instrument humidor group, there are different sizes to accommodate certain instruments from small, standard, and large. Within the multi-instrument humidor group, we carry a variety of widths that are capable of storing differing quantities of various instruments, which is also partially dependent on how the instruments are displayed and stored as well.

All humidors provide industry leading humidity control and are available in a variety of domestic and exotic hardwood species.

Single Instrument Humidors

As the name implies, these humidors store one instrument at a time. They are available in triangle and rectangle shapes, with the triangle being interchangeable between a wall or floor model and the rectangle in wall model only.

Popular Wood Species: Northern White Ash, Flame Maple, Walnut, and Cherry

Starting at $999 USD

Multi-Instrument Humidors

As the name implies, these humidors typically store more than one instrument and are a traditional cabinet design. Available in six core sizes, with the ability to link together two or more cabinets with our Connect System, the possibilities are endless to store your entire collection.

Popular Wood Species: Northern White Ash, Walnut, Flame Maple, and Cherry

Starting at $3,750 USD

Differences in Humidity Control

When choosing a humidor it's important to understand how the different humidor types are humidity controlled. For all the single instrument humidors, no power is required to properly humidify because the Boveda Two-Way Humidity control packets utilize proven salt and water solution mixtures to target the relative humidity printed on the packet. The pure water vapor is emitted or absorbed back into the packet continually, in the background, to achieve a perfect relative humidity for your instrument. This makes them extremely versatile and flexible in terms of placement within the space they will be utilized.

In contrast, the multi-instrument humidors come standard with a powered humidity control system, so planning accordingly is necessary to position this unit close to a power source, as well as either eight or ten Boveda Two-Way Humidity control packets as a secondary/redundant source.

Single Instrument Humidors

The Boveda Two-Way Humidity control packets are the sole source of humidity control in our single instrument humidors. Boveda’s patented 2-way humidity control adds or removes moisture as conditions require to maintain the ideal humidity level in your ClimaCase or ClimaStand. We store them inside of aromatic cedar packet holders, which store two packets each. This is a non-powered, simple to use system that works exceptionally well in our hermetically sealed humidors. We ship each humidor with a starter set of four packets and a pair of two-packet holders to immediately begin your new humidification regimen.

Options: 49%, 49% HA, and 72% packets

Starting at $3.99 USD

Multi-Instrument Humidors

The ClimaCab utilizes the Acoustic Remedy Humidity Control System, which is an industry leading humidifier or dehumidifier, depending on settings and content of the reservoir. We use this system in all ClimaCabs unless in the rare instance where the cabinet is customized to humidify only with Boveda. In addition to this world-class system, we use Boveda in the ClimaCabs as a back-up humidity control mechanism.

Highlights: World-class humidity control system featuring Swiss made sensors, a smart controller, a high high airflow fan, and the ability to both humidify and dehumidify.

Warranty

The Acoustic Remedy Humidity Control System comes with a 10 year warranty. All components are easily replaceable and we stand behind them, giving you peace of mind for the long haul.

Subscription Services

We offer a couple of subscription programs to keep humidity control easy and worry free. Our popular Packet Renewal Program automatically ships Boveda to your door quarterly and our ClimaCab Care packages keep vital consumables readily available.

Humidors for Different Size Instruments

Archtop, Bass, and Jumbo Guitars

Our Buyer's Guides can provide more information for both the single and multi-instrument humidors for determining the right humidor for longer and/or wider instruments. Generally speaking, we have Jumbo and Super Jumbo single instrument humidors to accommodate these instruments and most will fit fine in our multi-instrument humidors. Understanding the correct options for these instruments will ensure a proper fit, form, and function.

Violins, Mandolins, and Ukuleles

We have four different sizes of small instrument humidors which were created for the common sizes of ukuleles. Instruments such as mandolins and violins are comfortably stored in same humidor size as a tenor or baritone ukulele. In addition, we have stored a lot of smaller instruments in the ClimaCab and this is typically best accomplished using the ProHang option and storing them in dedicated slat wall hangers.

Cellos

For larger stringed instruments, such as a cello, we have created a single instrument humidor as well as made necessary modifications to our multi-instrument humidors that make it possible to store, display, and protect them in either. Due to variations in size and some features of cellos that can differ, we will work one-on-one to design a humidor that works for each situation.

Electric Guitars

Electric guitars are typically around half the depth and a few inches shorter than their acoustic guitar counterparts. Therefore these guitars will fit comfortably in our standard size single instrument humidors as well as any ClimaCab we offer. When using in a ClimaStand, we include a bumper block set that attaches to the back of the humidor via magnets and bumps out the lower bout of the guitar so it is parallel with the glass.

Wall vs. Floor Model

Heat Sink

The aluminum channel doubles as a track but also as a heat-sink to ensure the lifespan of your LED strips is maximized.

Polycarbonate Diffuser

Diffused PC covers help to reduce light dots and glaring on your instruments. The result is soft and even LED light.

Seamless Transitions

90 degree corner connectors and 180 degree straight connectors result in no gaps and continuous diffusion.
