NEW PRODUCTS COMING SOON!

The Custom Shop

Welcome to the Custom Shop where a wide array of options are available at your fingertips.  Acoustic Remedy, along with key partners, can customize any of our products from the ground up by starting with a rich assortment of options.  We take great pride in working one-on-one with our customers to provide an exceptional experience, so please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything you may want which isn't shown here.

Some of our options in The Custom Shop were dreamed up by prior customers and some by our team.  Maybe your new idea will be next or you'll elect from our offerings, either way you're sure to have a truly unique product from Acoustic Remedy.

World Class Wood Species

We have the distinct honor of working with some of the world's best woods from all corners of the globe.  In our pursuit of finding these beautiful hardwoods, we always ensure they are harvested sustainably and all species must meet FSC standards. The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.

If you're unsure what options exist, please visit our AR Woods page.

Multiple Wood Species

We have the unique ability to combine multiple wood species into one case, stand, cabinet, or other accessory product.  The joint work is impeccable and makes the entire wood surface appear as one cohesive piece despite multiple strips glued together.

The secret to the success of this approach is that perfectly jointed strips of wood that are glued together and clamped for approximately 24-48 hours are stronger than a piece of wood on its own.  This feature is often hard for most people, Acoustic Remedy's founders included, to understand until they see it with their own eyes.  This makes combining multiple wood species a fantastic way to incorporate different woods into the product without compromising strength or function.

Inlays

Aulson Inlay (https://aulsoninlay.com/) has teamed up with Acoustic Remedy to make your customized inlay vision come to life on any of our products.

To date, we've concentrated on inlaying the door only of ClimaStands. In the near future, we will explore options for inlay on the ClimaCabs as well as various locations on either of these two product lines.

The typical process is for you to give us an approximate budget, any design ideas, color schemes, or other personalization you desire, and what wood type and product that you'd like inlayed. From there, we will contact Aulson and begin the dialogue. Typically, the two side pieces of the door frame range from $350-$750 depending on materials and size. All four sides (top, bottom, and both sides) of the door frame range from $500-$1000. Therefore, pricing on this option begins at $250 and is considered a down payment to begin work on your inlay design. Final pricing will be determined after consulting with Aulson and calculating additional costs to ship pieces to them for inlaying.

Bindings

Wood or plastic binding featured on a majority of instruments.  Typically the binding complements the wood and creates an eye-catching contrast.  Binding runs the entire perimeter of the door frame depending on your desired look.  Pricing varies depending on binding type, please inquire.

Staining

Most wood species stain quite well, but there are certainly several which don't.  There are also several wood species that you'd never want to alter the natural beauty and others which accentuates it.

Examples of wood species that stain well are Flamed Maple, Cherry, Red and White Oak, and Northern White Ash.  Those that we'd recommend not staining would be nearly all of the exotic species along with a couple of domestics.  We can steer you in the right direction and provide physical samples that assist with determining how they will look next to your instruments and also within the room they will reside in.

Our finisher applies a base coat of Woodwright brand stain prior to a triple coat of catalyzed lacquer to lock in the color and provide necessary protection for the base wood.

One method to determine how a stain might appear on a particular wood species is to visit the Woodwright website and browse their Ohio Stain Collection Browser.  On the left side, select a wood species or several to compare and contrast stains.

Laser Engraving

We cut the pieces and ship them off to a local laser engraving company to get your design embellished with great precision.  Available on wood pieces and acrylic, not glass.

Custom Size

Create a custom size ClimaCase, ClimaStand, ClimaCab or other product such as a Pedal Board.

Typically we ask for dimensions, specifications on the instrument(s), and a few other details until all information necessary to create your custom size product are identified.  More than likely this will require a phone call or two and also email and text communication to get all pertinent details squared away.

Enhanced Lighting

Please visit this page to learn more about our enhanced lighting package available for ClimaStands and ClimaCases.  This lighting comes standard on our multi-instrument ClimaCab line of products.

Enhanced Security

Please visit this page to learn more about our enhanced security packages available ClimaStands, ClimaCases, and ClimaCab line of products.  We have multiple finishes on the simplest of options, the keyed cam lock shown below, and also a few other nice touches to enhance the security of your instrument.

UV Blocking/Safety Glass

Our UV Blocking/Safety Glass offers protection from UV radiation and enhances the safety of people using our humidor line of products.  Instead of breaking into thousands of small pieces, like tempered glass, or breaking into shards, like regular cabinet glass, the UV Blocking/Safety Glass has a transparent layer which acts much like a car windshield when impacted.  It may crack but will remain in one piece.

Glass Sides

The Glass Sides are an option across our entire humidor product line and is standard on all ClimaCabs.  For ClimaCases and ClimaStands this may not have been apparent in our main menu, so we decided to highlight this option in The Custom Shop.

This feature provides a beautiful frame on the side and allows for more visibility of the sides of your guitars.  Both regular, double strength 1/8" glass and UV Blocking/Safety Glass are available.

Hardware/Coved Handles

We offer a coved handle as the standard option on ClimaCases and ClimaStands. It's also the standard option on the ClimaCab Petite and Petite+ because those sizes have only one door. These work very well to open the doors while keeping the front clean and placing all the focus on the wood of the humidor plus the instruments within.

If hardware is desired, a couple of options exist. Choose from our popular Greenwich Collection, which comes standard on the Traditional and up sizes of the ClimaCab, or provide your own.

In addition, you can elect for the coved handle in place of the standard hardware of ClimaCabs.
